Part 2196 – Running With Tsunachu

Jeff had opted against taking his car. It was a beautiful day and he needed to be out in it.

Also, he didn’t feel like moving his car. So, he ran all the way home with Tsunachu strapped to his side.

Memories stirred and surfaced inside his mind…

“All right, Farsigh.” Master Initskay stood beside him. “Now that you have your weapon in place, I want you to run from this side of the room to that side of the room as fast and as hard as you can.”

Tsunachu drifted in between Jeff’s legs again. “How am I supposed to do it if my weapon keeps getting in my way?”

Master Initskay inspected the scabbard’s belt and shook his head. “It’s too loose. Tighten it more.”

Jeff obeyed.

“Okay. Now. Run!”

He ran. As he did, the dojo’s walls fell away like a poorly designed set in a play. He was no longer a boy. He was a man and he ran fast and hard with Tsunachu at his waist.

Maybe he was an odd sight to see. All dressed up in a tuxedo with a sword hanging in a scabbard at his waist.

Maybe people stopped and stared.

He didn’t notice.

He ran, lost in the feeling of freedom and the thrill of memories. Yet, he still found his way back home.

Jeff entered his house and proceeded to do a series of cool down yoga stretches. He ended it in child pose.

He closed his eyes and touched his forehead to the floor.

My chest rises.

My chest falls.

My hands are on the floor.

My knees are tucked under me.

Nothing hurts.

My chest rises.

My chest falls.

My forehead is touching the floor.

My feet are behind me.

Nothing is strained.

My breathing is regular.

I am calm.

I am at peace.

My sword is at my side.

Jeff let his mind go blank. He let the moment surround him in whatever form it decided to take shape. Maybe it was a monster’s mouth swooping down on him. Maybe it was a comforting blanket. Maybe it was an ocean wave.

Or maybe it was a woman’s embrace.

He didn’t try to nudge it into one shape or another. He accepted it as it was.

He stayed in that position for ten minutes and focused on nothing other than simply existing.

After the ten minutes were up, Jeff took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. He sat up and stretched his back and neck. “nggh. I guess I better grab my guitar and head on back.”
