Part 2140 – So Much Uncertainty Before Dawn.

What if he’s dead?

He could be dead.

What if he is dead?

Robin struggled against his bonds, but to no avail.

He huffed out a breath through his nose.

What if he is dead?

Robin’s mouth twitched.

He wished that he could scream.

‘sellta? he called out softly. Please. Let me know you’re alive.

“If only I knew if he were alive.” Isellta closed his eyes. “That’s the worst part…not knowing.” He sighed softly. “There’s so much I don’t know. All I do know is that I can still feel him.”

He curled his hand against the middle of his chest. “He’s here. He’s right here. He pulls me on a string I can’t see, but I can feel it. I can feel it when I breathe. I can feel it when I hold my breath. It’s there.” He yawned. “It’s right there, Jay. My Robin’s right there.”

Robin, why don’t you call to me? I’m here. Don’t you know that I am here?

I’m right here.

Jay kept an arm around Isellta as he watched the monitor.

Do you hear any of that, Robin?

Come on. Where are you?

“You’re right, you know. If I broke up with Maelin, it would hurt. It would hurt so much. I don’t know what I would do. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to win her back. I don’t know. But it is possible that she would understand. She is part fey, right? She is part peace dragon, right? So, maybe. Maybe she would understand my reasoning.”

He kissed Isellta’s head. “Who knows? Maybe she’d find a way to forgive me.”

But I would never forgive myself for letting her go.

Maelin got up from her spot and headed back to the mansion.

“Come on, Robin. It’s your big moment. Show up. We’re waiting for you. Isellta’s waiting for you.”

Come on.

Just get yourself over here.

“We’re waiting.”

Robin’s energy drained as night made its way to morning.

He closed his eyes.
