What is the Blogger Recognition Award? Well…

The Blogger Recognition Award is an award given in recognition of all the hard work that goes into creating a blog. It is a way for bloggers to support, motivate, and promote other bloggers who have clearly put in huge amounts of time and effort to produce valuable content.

Bloggers work hard. They promote, market, advertise, and run a busy site. They organize all kinds of activities. They encourage, motivate, interact, and engage their readers.

It doesn’t matter if they are shy and reticent or loud and personable. Each actively progressive blogger is the same. They all work hard and passionately with their blogs. They put in the hours to deliver to their audience each day a welcoming location to read, absorb, learn and have fun.

And that is what the Blogger Recognition Award celebrates.

So, now that we explained that all, what are the rules for this award?

How did my blog start?

It all started back in 2016 when I created my first blog cosistories.wordpress.com by accident. Yep, completely by accident. I had heard a lot about WordPress and I decided to see what all was involved in setting up a blog. I played around with the set-up and was going to back out when I reached the end. That was my big plan. I hit Create instead. And I was like, “Well. I guess I have a blog now.”  😆

Meantime, I had an assorted group of writing prompt stories centered around a vampire named Ambrose Smith and a vampire hunter named Elsie Vansing. I really liked his personality and character and I kept getting that itch to do something with the stories. I felt like there was so much more to be explored with those two characters, so much fleshing out that could be done. So, I decided to make a blog for those stories and that would be ambroseandelsie.wordpress.com .

The story has grown and expanded over the years to include completely unplanned characters and situations. Ambrose and Elsie have grown into deeper, more dimensional characters. It has been an awesome journey digging into these characters and figuring out what makes them tick.

What are my two cents of advice to new bloggers?

Be friendly. Interact with your readers. When they leave comments on your posts, thank them and respond to their comment. Don’t be insulting.

Don’t follow someone else’s blog and let your only comment be “You Should Follow My Blog.” (imagine that being said in a super aggressive voice). It feels rude and spammy.
