Part 1750 – “I Love Him, But Not Like That.”

Robin contemplated the vampire walking beside him.

His happiness matters to me.

Why?

Because.

Because I love him.

He can be stupid as stupid gets. I wanna punch him in the face at least half the time.

But I love him.

He looked away from him.

Not that I’m innerested in doin’ the whole kissin’ and embracin’ and gettin’ all naked thing with him. I don’t love him like that.

It’s more like…

Robin thought about it.

Like he’s my really annoyin’ older brother. He bugs me, but I want him to be happy. I want him to be with the one he loves and I want her to love him back. I don’t want to see him get all hurt and disappointed.

So, yeah. I love him.

Weird.

Just so weird.

I ain’t even sure when it happened.

“Are you going to sleep in your own bed tonight?” Ambrose asked.

Robin admired him.

He is hot as blazes. Ain’t no denyin’ that.

“It’s your last day with us. After this, Barbara gets you all to herself.”

“All to herself, huh?” Ambrose grinned. “What, you think she’s going to lock me in her basement?”

“Stupid dummy. You know what I mean. I mean…from this point on, when I get bad dreams, I won’t be able to curl up with you no more.”

Ambrose stopped and Robin followed suit. “So? Is that a roundabout no?”

Robin huffed out a sigh. “It ain’t a roundabout nothin’. I want you to sleep with me. My bed. Your bed. Don’t matter.” He gave him an uneasy look. “Unless you don’t wanna.”

“And you call me stupid.” Ambrose wrapped his arm around the younger vampire’s neck. “Just remember: No freaky touching or anything. And, for the record, ‘anything’ includes any and all licking, sucking, nibbling, biting—”

“Stop! I get it! I get it! Darnation! Why would I do any of that stuff to you anyway? You ain’t even my type.”

Ambrose laughed. “It should be obvious even to someone as oblivious as you.”

“Ain’t got a clue what you’re talkin’ about.”

“Of course, you don’t. You’re attracted to me.”

“HA!” Robin shoved Ambrose’s arm off his neck. “You wish.”

Ambrose smirked and kept walking.

“Hey! Don’t you go smirkin’ at me like that and then go marchin’ off!” Robin ran after him. “We ain’t done with this conversation.”

“Oh, really? You want to add on to my statement?”

Robin punched Ambrose’s arm. “Dummy. Stupid stupid dummy. That’s what you are when you ain’t bein’ the reignin’ hot hormones king.”

“Nice. Real nice.”

“So, I think you’re hot. Duh! So, what? Anyone would think that. Stupid! But I ain’t attracted to you. It would be freakin’ weird if I were. It would be like I’m crushin’ on my own brother or somethin’.”

“Brother?”

“Older brother. Lots older.”

“Of course.” Ambrose gave him a teasing look. “So, you don’t have erotic fantasies about me?”

“You wish. You wish so hard. I don’t want you like that and I ain’t ever goin’ to.”

“That makes me feel better.”

“Oh, yay for you.”

They walked in a companionable silence.

Robin took the older vampire’s hand. “I’m gonna miss you, Ambrose.”

Ambrose smiled fondly at him. “I’m going to miss you too.”
